Investing in your relationship with yourself
How well do you know yourself? Why do you do the things you do? Why do you feel the way you feel?
Did you know that the past shows up in the present? Through awareness of your present physical sensations and emotional feelings, we can clue into what needs healing from your past. We do not need to medicate the way your body is trying to communicate, but rather pay attention to what it needs.
For instance, we use the clues of our emotions that are stuck (depression, anxiety, fear, grief, etc.) or the somatic symptoms that show up (headaches, panic attacks, restlessness, heaviness, tension/tightness in your body, numbness). Or, the kinds of addictions we use to cope (social media, relationships, hookups, pornography, alcohol and other drugs, food or restriction of food, overworking or needing to be busy in general.
All of these reveal a deeper mystery into the deeper needs neglected within ourselves. I can help you to explore these places and find deeper healing.
The approaches I use are research-based that understands how explicit and implicit memory through our lives is stored in the body. This process emphasizes a whole person approach which includes the needs and functions of the mind/intellect, emotions, social/community, physical, and spiritual. We explore the trauma and grief we still hold onto through how we function as a whole person. It may present itself in how we process emotions, how we live physically, socially, professionally, spiritually, etc.
By growing in our emotional and physical/somatic awareness, we learn a lot about ourselves and our story. This is the doorway into healing.
